Author Guidelines

Thank you for considering Taylorian Insights: Journal of Management Review (Taylorian) for your research. To ensure a smooth submission and review process, please carefully follow the guidelines outlined below. Adherence to these instructions will facilitate a timely and efficient publication process.

1. Scope and Subject Matter of Submissions

Taylorian welcomes original, rigorous, and high-impact research that significantly contributes to the theory and practice of management. We particularly encourage submissions that offer substantial implications for academics, practitioners, and policymakers worldwide, with a distinctive emphasis on enhancing efficiency, effectiveness, and sustainable development in remote and border regions.

Our scope encompasses a broad spectrum of management disciplines, including:

  • Strategic Management
  • Human Resource Management & Organizational Behavior
  • Marketing & Consumer Innovation
  • Financial & Managerial Accounting
  • Operations, Supply Chain, & Production Systems Management
  • Entrepreneurship & New Venture Development
  • Management Information Systems & Digital Transformation
  • Public & Non-Profit Sector Management
  • Regional & Border Area Development Management (with a specific focus as outlined in our Aims and Scope).

We accept various methodological approaches: theoretical, conceptual, empirical (quantitative and qualitative), comparative case studies, experimental, and meta-analysis. Every published article must demonstrate a sharp analytical focus to significantly enhance the understanding and practice of management. For a more detailed understanding of our focus, please refer to the journal's Aims and Scope.

2. Manuscript Preparation and Formatting Standards

All submissions must be prepared using the provided Taylorian Manuscript Template to ensure consistency and adherence to our formatting requirements.

General Formatting Rules:

  • Language: Manuscripts must be written in clear, concise, and grammatically correct United States English.
  • Length: The main body of the manuscript (excluding abstract, references, and appendices) should be between 4,000 and 8,000 words.
  • Font:
    • Body Text: Sabon Next LT, 10pt, single-spaced.
    • Abstract, Headers: Avenir Next LT Pro. Specific sizes detailed below.
  • Spacing: Single-spaced throughout the document. Spaces should only exist between paragraphs when using block quotes.
  • Margins: Maintain the default margins of the template (typically 1-inch on all sides).
  • Paragraphs: The first paragraph of each section should have no indentation. Subsequent paragraphs should be indented by 0.5 inches.
  • Page Numbers: Do not include page numbers; these will be added by the journal administration.
  • No Advanced Features: Do not use any advanced Word features such as custom header/footer (except for the separate title page), embedded objects, or linked files.

Manuscript Structure:

  • Separate Title Page (for Double-Blind Review):
    • Title: Journal Article Title: Subtitle (Title Case, Bold, Avenir Next LT Pro, 14pt).
    • Author Information: Author Name(s), Primary University Affiliation, Country, and Corresponding Author Email. This page will be removed before sending to reviewers.
  • Main Manuscript Body:
    • Header (Admin Use Only): A page header (e.g., Taylorian Insights: Journal of Management Review, ISSN, Volume, Issue, Month Year, DOI) will be added by the journal administration.
    • Abstract: One paragraph, between 150 and 250 words.
      • Summarize the core of the work without direct quotes or citations.
      • Font: Avenir Next LT Pro, 8pt.
    • Keywords: Three to Five Important Phrases, separated by commas, in Title Case.
    • 1. Introduction: (Avenir Next LT Pro, 12pt, Bold, Left Aligned)
    • 2. Literature Review and Hypothesis Development: (First-tier header, numbered)
      • 2.1. Sub-Section Header: (Second-tier header, Avenir Next LT Pro, 11pt, Left Aligned, not numbered within the template but part of the numbered structure).
      • 2.1.1. Sub-sub-Section Header: (Third-tier header, Avenir Next LT Pro, 10.5pt, Italic, Left Aligned, not numbered within the template).
      • Block Quotations: Indented by 0.5 inches, no quotation marks, citation after the period. Used for 50 words or more. (Author Surname year published, page number).

      • Figures and Tables:
        • Insert all figures as JPG files, resolution below 300 DPI.
        • Position figures and tables after the paragraph where they are first described.
        • All tables must be editable in Word and include all gridlines. Images of tables are not accepted.
        • Tables should be created using Word's Table function.
        • Table Formatting: No more than 5.4 inches wide. Landscape mode tables are not accepted.
        • Captions: "Table 1: Title of Table in Title Case" (above the table). "Figure 1: Caption of the Figure in Title Case" (below the figure).
        • Source/Notes: Include "Source: (Surname, Year)" and/or "Notes:" if applicable.
    • 5. Conclusion
    • Acknowledgment (If applicable): Insert here.
    • AI Acknowledgment (Required): Choose one of the following statements:
      • "The authors declare that generative AI or AI-assisted technologies were not used in any way to prepare, write, or complete this manuscript. The authors confirm that they are the sole authors of this article and take full responsibility for the content therein, as outlined in COPE recommendations."
      • "The authors acknowledge the use of [insert name of AI system(s)] for [specific use of artificial intelligence]. The prompts used include [list of prompts]. The output from these prompts was used to [explain use]. While the authors acknowledge the usage of AI, they maintain that they are the sole authors of this article and take full responsibility for the content therein, as outlined in COPE recommendations."
    • Informed Consent (Required): Choose one of the following statements:
      • "The authors have obtained informed consent from all participants."
      • "The authors declare that informed consent was not required as there were no human participants involved."
    • Conflict of Interest (Required): "The authors declare that there is no conflict of interest." (Confirm or revise as needed).
    • REFERENCES: Must follow APA Style 7th Edition (see below).
    • Appendix (If applicable): Formatted similarly to the main manuscript. Label with letters (e.g., Appendix A). Cannot exceed four pages. Tables/figures within appendices should be labeled (e.g., Table A1).
    • ABOUT THE AUTHORS: Provide author name(s), position, division, affiliated organization, city, state, country.
      • Clearly indicate the Corresponding Author's Email.
      • Do NOT include ORCID iDs or full biographies here; please update your journal profile with your ORCID iD.

3. Bibliographic and Formatting Standards

All in-text citations and the reference list must strictly adhere to the American Psychological Association (APA) Style, 7th Edition. Other referencing styles and footnote citation systems are not permitted.

General Guidelines for References:

  • References should be listed in alphabetical order by the first author's last name.
  • Use a hanging indent for each reference entry.
  • Include DOIs for all sources where available.
  • Only include URLs if the source does not have a DOI and is accessed online.

4. Submission Process & Ethical Considerations

  • Online Submission: All manuscripts must be submitted electronically through the Taylorian Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform.
  • Double-Blind Peer Review: Taylorian employs a strict double-blind peer-review process. Ensure your submitted manuscript for review (excluding the separate title page) does not contain any identifying author information.
  • Originality & Plagiarism: Submissions must be original work that has not been previously published nor is currently under consideration by another publication. Taylorian uses plagiarism detection software.
  • Publication Ethics: Taylorian strictly adheres to the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). Authors are expected to comply with ethical standards in research and publication.
  • Open Access Policy: All articles published in Taylorian are made immediately and freely available online under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International (CC BY-NC 4.0) License. Authors retain full copyright over their work, granting Taylorian a license to publish.
